The Annual Irish Wake, which was cancelled (except for online music) due to covid for the past 2 years, is reinventing itself this year and we are really excited!
We are planning a 2-part event for 2022.
Join us at Little Fat Gretchen’s from 3-6pm on Thursday, March 17, to enjoy the traditional Irish Music Session by the Calathumpians, a reclusive group that plays Irish music weekly! This is a rare opportunity to hear these musicians play. They’ve been doing their session for the Wake for many years and are willing to come out and play! Gretchen will be serving corned beef and cabbage so plan to have dinner as you listen to the music.
Then, head on down to Danes Hall for an Irish Ceili: music and dancing with the fun band Flip O the Coin! These musicians play a lot of Irish events, and will be teaching us some basic old time and Irish Dance moves to get everyone on the floor of the grand ballroom dancing!
We will be adding our loved ones who have passed on to the Honor Roll book again, and everyone is invited to participate in a community art project. More information will emerge about this event!
Vaccination cards of negative covid test proof required at the Danes Hall. Suggested entry fee is $10.
