The River Ridge Trail is part of a plan to preserve urban natural areas in a non-motorized trail system that winds throughout the Waupaca area. There are several off-road trail segments located throughout the city. These segments are connected by streets that are designated with River Ridge Trail signs. Bikes are allowed only on limestone or blacktopped surfaces.
The Ice Age Trail crosses back and forth between Waupaca and Portage counties where the chapter maintains more than 23 miles of Ice Age Trail across five segments: Waupaca River (4.9 miles); Hartman Creek (5.6 miles); Emmons Creek (2.6 miles); Skink and Foster Lakes (4.4 miles); and New Hope-Iola Skil Hill (5.6 miles).
